We have been doing the do for the last 5 days straight over at catalina and have to say some days have been ok and some days have been as good as it gets!
The island is full speed on what we all wait for all year, good fishing and the weather is finally getting straight to put in a good day.
Conditions are as good as they get and the fishing was pretty much wide open for us on Saturday on a kelp that proved people need to be on there toes at all time when a school swims by and sticks to the boat.
We got set up on a kelp and got the hook down and the boat settled back into position and rods went down… I say rod….sssss.
I got a bunch down in the bow, midship and stern as 2 of the passangers slept and 1 was not feeling well from our big pond.
Just as the boat settled back 1 rod folds over and then 2, 3, 4 , 5 & 6…..
First order of biz… 2 scoops of live squid go over the side and the madness begins.
We had a good go around not only once but twice for a good 30 min, guys getting freight trained into the kelp, and so on..
One of those mornings we all wait for and dream of, having a school of big seabass stuck to the bottom of the boat.
Last pic was our chief on board with fresh ceviche to go head to head with the chiefs on any of the long range boats!
A trip to remember, thanks guys for fishing with Seasons Sportfishing!
