Just back in from some summer weather conditions and some good fishing over at Catalina yesterday.
We had a light load for Sunday, but the guys wanted the boat to themselves so we had them arrive an hour early to the fish biting in the dark were packed up and underway early Sunday morning.
Stopped off at our good friend on the Marie Claire and got all tanked up with some red hot fire crackers and were all smiles as we made our way to the spot.
Metered around for some time to find a nest, which looks like a lot of the bait has picked up and moved on but after about 20 min search we finally found a nice spot to get the hook down and get to work.
Got the boys set up with a few droppers and a jigs on the bow and started cutting bait for a swim by with all fingers crossed on some of the bigger grade fish.
It was about 20 min into soaking baits and looked over at Stu and saw a few thumps and said “set him up” !!
A few big head shakes and some good runs and fire drills with other rods, stuck the gaff in a PIG!
Congrats guys on a fish of a lifetime, everyone had a hand getting her on deck!
Enjoy the BBQ and thanks for fishing with Seasons Sportfishing!
